Wilton Bake Easy Non-Stick Spray

New From: $9.19 USD In Stock

A very convenient solution to ensure that your cakes come out easily from your pans every time.  Forget messing with greasy pieces of kitchen paper or brushing on oil that pools in the crevices.

With just a light, even spray, your pans will be coated, and your cakes will be even and easier to decorate.

So is it really as good as all that? What do real customers say about it?

Pros

Many customers were pleasantly surprised by the results of the Bake Easy Spray, saying that the results were better than expected.  Once person said that she hadn’t had even one cake fail to come out of the pan perfectly.  She also said that it made the pan easier to clean which, of course is an added bonus!

Another plus mentioned by a customer is that as you just need a very light coating, the spray can lasts a long time.  This customer now uses this spray for all her baking.

One more advantage mentioned is that most cooking sprays mean that the outer crust of the cake cooks quicker and becomes thicker and creates more crumbs. Bake Easy prevents this from happening and produces a smooth and even surface to decorate.

It is also noteworthy that the spray does not contain hydrogenated oils.

Cons

One customer felt that the spray was unreliable and that lumps of cake stuck to the pan.  She said that other forms of greasing a pan were more reliable.

Cons

One customer said that she found it easy to use, but messy. Another said that the bags that she received had small holes in them, and the icing came out and made a mess. One person felt that the bags were too small, and would have preferred larger sized bags with the kit.

Another customer said that she felt that the kit should have contained couplers.  She said that it worked fine without them, but would have been even better with them.

Tips From Customers

One customer said that when the disposable plastic bags that are included in the kit have been used up, she uses ziplock bags, cuts the corner off the bag, and inserts the tips. Cheap and easy!

What is Sugarcraft?

So what is Sugarcraft anyway? Increasing in popularity all over the world, Sugarcrafting has long been popular in the UK and USA.  A recent upsurge of cooking, baking and cake decorating TV programs such as “Ace of Cakes” have made people more and more interested in creating artistic looking cakes for all occasions. The recent recession has also made it more viable to make your own cakes for special occasions rather than paying out a lot of money to have one made for you.

Some professionals, although making and decorating cakes for a living, would say that it is still more of a hobby than a business. The amount of time that is invested in making a delicate bouquet of flowers could be as much as 40-50 hours!  However, if you get hooked by the Sugarcrafting bug, the satisfaction that you feel when you have completed a work of art makes it all worthwhile!

What is Sugarcraft anyway?

Well, Sugarcraft can be described as three-dimensional cake decorating.  It covers a huge variety of styles, and includes characters and models made from sugarpaste or fondant, to amazingly lifelike and botanically correct flowers.

Fondant is usually used to cover a cake – and can be bought pre-coloured, or can be coloured to exactly the right shade, usually using colour pastes.  You can also use dusts in various colours to “paint” or brush colour onto your finished work.

Some of the most popular companies that manufacture Sugarcraft items are PME, Wiltons, Sugarflair, Orchard Products, FMM, and JEM.  You can buy a huge array of tools, boards, cutters, plungers, colours, pastes, dusts and much much more to make your work easier.  Although the initial investment may seem a lot, most of these tools will be used over and over again for years to come.  A good idea is to begin by taking a workshop or a class in the basics of Sugarcrafting, and a good teacher will teach you how to make the best use of your tools, and to get multiple uses out of your various cutters.
