Reviews of Kuhn Rikon Cookie Press

Kuhn Rikon Clear Cookie Press

New From: $19.69 USD In Stock

Make hundreds of cool cookies in one easy session with this cookie press from Kuhn Rikon.  So light and easy that you can even use it one handed (left or right!). Simply choose one of the 14 discs, fill with cookie mixture, and press down to create perfectly uniform cookies in no time.

The clear container makes it simple to see when you need to refill the mixture. Some versions come with an extra barrel so you can fill up with cookie mixture and don’t have to stop mid flow.

It also seems to come with an adapter so that you can use standard icing tips to make it a really versatile kitchen gadget.

So easy that even the kids can use it!

Pros

One customer compared this product favorably to some more popular brands.  She said that it was far easier to clean, and much easier to use, even with one hand leaving the other hand free.

The results are professional looking cookies, and the dough comes out smoothly and evenly.

Cons

One customer said that despite making fantastic cookies, it did not produce great results when used for frosting.

Some people felt that the cookies were too small (1.5″-2″).

A couple of other people found that the plastic ring was a bit flimsy and either popped off or broke.

Tips from Customers

The instructions say that you should chill the cookie sheets and not grease them, and this was agreed upon by customers!

Remember that the discs are not suitable for use in the dishwasher.

Ensure that your cookie dough is not too thick, or it will be very hard to squeeze the trigger, and the results wont be good.

Cupcakes are still as popular to make as ever.  And people are getting more and more creative when it comes to making them look and taste that bit different.

The Cuisipro Cupcake Corer helps you to cut a hole in the center of your cupcake so that you can fill it with something delicious.

It’s easy to use – all you have to do is twist the gadget into the middle of your cooked cupcake, and that’s it!  There is a flower shaped guard which tells you how far to push the plunger. Remove the corer and push down on the plunger to push out the core.  Be creative and make a new dessert from these! Donut holes anyone?!  Then all you have to do is fill your cupcake with cream, jam, butter cream or whatever you feel like.

The Cupcake Corer measures 2.8 x 2.2 x 2.2 inches and is top rack dishwasher safe.

Customer Reviews of Wiltons Cup Cake Decorating Set

Make the funkiest, prettiest and most ooh-and-ahh worthy cupcakes!

The set includes four of Wilton’s tips – 1M, 22, round tip 12 and Bismark tip 230. You also get 8 heavy duty plastic disposable icing bags, and an easy to follow instruction booklet.

So what do the customers think?

Pros

Even customers who said that they were complete beginners and who had never decorated cupcakes before said that this set and it’s instructions were “idiot-proof”. Easy to use with fantastic results.

The decorating tips that are included are a good place to start – you can create a variety of beautiful and professional looking cupcakes, and even fill them with delicious jams, buttercreams and other fillings.

The disposable bags that are included are tough and durable and stand up to inexperienced squeezing!

Cons

One customer said that she found it easy to use, but messy. Another said that the bags that she received had small holes in them, and the icing came out and made a mess. One person felt that the bags were too small, and would have preferred larger sized bags with the kit.

Another customer said that she felt that the kit should have contained couplers.  She said that it worked fine without them, but would have been even better with them.

Tips From Customers

One customer said that when the disposable plastic bags that are included in the kit have been used up, she uses ziplock bags, cuts the corner off the bag, and inserts the tips. Cheap and easy!

What is Sugarcraft?

So what is Sugarcraft anyway? Increasing in popularity all over the world, Sugarcrafting has long been popular in the UK and USA.  A recent upsurge of cooking, baking and cake decorating TV programs such as “Ace of Cakes” have made people more and more interested in creating artistic looking cakes for all occasions. The recent recession has also made it more viable to make your own cakes for special occasions rather than paying out a lot of money to have one made for you.

Some professionals, although making and decorating cakes for a living, would say that it is still more of a hobby than a business. The amount of time that is invested in making a delicate bouquet of flowers could be as much as 40-50 hours!  However, if you get hooked by the Sugarcrafting bug, the satisfaction that you feel when you have completed a work of art makes it all worthwhile!

What is Sugarcraft anyway?

Well, Sugarcraft can be described as three-dimensional cake decorating.  It covers a huge variety of styles, and includes characters and models made from sugarpaste or fondant, to amazingly lifelike and botanically correct flowers.

Fondant is usually used to cover a cake – and can be bought pre-coloured, or can be coloured to exactly the right shade, usually using colour pastes.  You can also use dusts in various colours to “paint” or brush colour onto your finished work.

Some of the most popular companies that manufacture Sugarcraft items are PME, Wiltons, Sugarflair, Orchard Products, FMM, and JEM.  You can buy a huge array of tools, boards, cutters, plungers, colours, pastes, dusts and much much more to make your work easier.  Although the initial investment may seem a lot, most of these tools will be used over and over again for years to come.  A good idea is to begin by taking a workshop or a class in the basics of Sugarcrafting, and a good teacher will teach you how to make the best use of your tools, and to get multiple uses out of your various cutters.
