  • Beat for at least 3 minutes for a fluffy texture.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3 cups (360g) powdered sugar
  • ½ cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup (60ml) heavy cream or milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, beat butter on medium speed until smooth.
  • Sift in powdered sugar and cocoa powder, then beat on low to combine.
  • Add heavy cream (or milk) and vanilla extract, then mix until smooth.
  • Increase speed and beat for 3–5 minutes until fluffy.
  • If too thick, add a bit more cream; if too thin, add more powdered sugar.
  • Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to a week.
