For my next birthday cake I'm going to City Cake Company in Mt Eden. I fell in love with their luxuriously decadent cakes which look, well, good enough to eat!
The one I particularly liked in the shop window is more suited to the kids, it was an oversized cupcake embellished with dramatic pink and green frosting.
Their website will point you to a gallery of fun, creative and simply beautiful cakes ranging from guy and sports cakes to lovely cakes ladies cakes, fun cakes and of course all of your special occasion cakes. Their wedding cakes look amazing.

Not being able to celebrate a besties 25th together, I decided to order a cake from city cake company and have it delivered as a surprise. I ordered a chocolate Parisian cake that looked absolutely divine on the website. The website was informative and quite easy to use and ordering the cake only took minutes. Delivery was prompt and the cake was absolutely scrumptious as rated by my bestie! It wasn't too chocolately nor was it too moist. It was just perfect and delicious!

I don't know how many times my friends and I have treated ourselves and bought their intricately decorated cupcakes, and every time the cake has been terrifically moist and rich.All the cakes are made on site and if you're lucky you can watch as the talented staff make edible rose buds and the like to top their masterpieces.
Although the average cake will set you back a few hours' wages, they really are worth the money, especially if it's a special occasion.
